Lac Gold Limited (ASX: LAC) — Drilling Reveals More High-Grade Shoots, Paving Way for Growth of 1.66Moz Resource at Rouyn Gold Project
30 June 2026
Highlights:
- Outstanding assays continue to demonstrate that high-grade gold mineralisation is more continuous than previously interpreted and modelled at the key Astoria deposit within Lac Gold’s broader Rouyn Gold Project
- The latest results define more high-grade shoots within broad mineralised envelopes, highlighting the potential to grow the existing 1.66 million ounce Mineral Resource
- Drillhole AS-26-798 confirms the continuity of the mineralised system from a new drilling orientation, providing important validation of the Company’s geological interpretation
- Standout intersections include 48.70m @ 1.86g/t Au from 195.80m and 64.50m @ 2.96g/t Au from 275.80m in AS-26-798, 12.55m @ 5.58g/t Au including 0.40m @ 74.70g/t Au in AS-26-795, and 16.80m @ 3.63g/t Au including 1.50m @ 29.48g/t Au in AS-26-796
- Ongoing drilling is testing the continuity of high-grade zones along strike and down-plunge, including down-dip continuity between depths of 400m and 1,000m
- With assay results received for only around 40% of holes drilled to date, and Phase 2 drilling already underway, the Company believes it is still only beginning to understand the broader scale and resource growth potential of the project
- Rouyn lies within the Abitibi greenstone belt, one of the world’s most prolific gold producing regions, with limited mining last occurring at the project in 1988 when gold averaged ~US$440/oz
Overview:
Lac Gold has reported another outstanding batch of high-grade drilling results from the Astoria deposit within its Rouyn Gold Project, reinforcing the Company’s view that the system carries significant resource growth potential beyond its current 1.66 million ounce Mineral Resource Estimate.
The latest results have intersected high-grade gold consistently across both the East and West sectors of the deposit, with drillhole AS-26-798 proving particularly significant. Drilled from the opposite side of the mineralised corridor to previous holes, AS-26-798 intersected the system at a much shallower angle, returning broad downhole intersections of 48.70m @ 1.86g/t Au from 195.80m — including a high-grade core of 11.30m @ 4.74g/t Au — and 64.50m @ 2.96g/t Au from 275.80m, including 3.50m @ 16.61g/t Au and 1.20m @ 22.10g/t Au. While these downhole lengths don’t represent true widths given the hole’s shallow intersection angle, the result provides an important alternative-perspective validation of the geometry and continuity of the mineralised system.
Geologically, current drilling supports the interpretation of Astoria as a large, structurally controlled orogenic gold system developed along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, comprising broad shear-hosted hydrothermal alteration envelopes — characterised by quartz-carbonate veining, silica flooding and disseminated pyrite-arsenopyrite mineralisation — with higher-grade gold shoots concentrated within steeply dipping secondary and tertiary structures. This architecture is characteristic of major orogenic gold systems globally and underpins Lac Gold’s strategy to systematically expand the resource.
With drilling at an advanced stage — 55 holes for 19,805m drilled, 40 holes sampled and dispatched, but assays received for just 23 holes covering 8,818m — the Company still has a substantial volume of pending results to incorporate into its evolving geological model. Phase 2 drilling, a 15,000m program, is already underway and designed to extend known mineralisation along strike and down-plunge, test down-dip continuity between 400m and 1,000m depth, and advance additional targets across the broader Rouyn gold corridor.

Company Notes:
Lac Gold Managing Director Andrew Stocks said: “These exceptional results reinforce our view that the Rouyn Gold Project has significant resource growth potential. They demonstrate that high-grade mineralisation at the Astoria deposit is more continuous than previously interpreted and modelled. As well as revealing the presence of significantly more high-grade gold, the results are important because they improve our understanding of the Rouyn geological system, meaning we are better placed to generate further resource growth. Drillhole AS-26-798 is particularly significant because it approached the mineralisation from the opposite side of the deposit to previous drilling. This alternative drilling orientation provides important confirmation of the geometry and continuity of mineralisation, validating our geological interpretation from a different perspective. With assay results now received for only around 40% of the holes drilled to date, and Phase 2 already well underway, we believe we are still only beginning to understand the broader scale and resource growth potential of the Rouyn Gold Project.”
